Hi
The first flight on the regular airmail service between USA and New Zealand left San Francisco on 12 July 1940 and arrived in Auckland on 18 July. According to Airmails of New Zealand vols 2 and 3, air mail was accepted for this flight from the UK from 3rd July at a rate of 4/6. If you have such a cover, it would be of great help if you could tell me the date of the UK postmark and the date of any Auckland backstamp or any other transit marks.

Could you reply by either posting on this board or by emailing me at: nzsgb1 AT googlemail.com (replace the AT with the usual symbol)

Thanks
Bob

My website: "New Zealand Stamp Images" describes New Zealand philately, postage stamps, airmails and postal history.
