WWII MAIL TO ARMY BASE PO LONDON

Letter written from NZ addresssed to Naval serviceman. c/o NZ Army Base PO London in 1944 has '222' manuscripted at the top of the addressed side and again below the sender's address on the reverse. Can any member explain what it indicates please?
